CAT Scan (CT)

What is Multi-sliced Computed Tomography?

Computed Tomography is a sophisticated x-ray imaging technique that allows physicians to look at anatomy deep inside your body. It is sometimes referred to as a CAT scan. During the exam, a CT x-ray tube and detector will rotate rapidly around you taking many images of your body in just seconds. The computer then processes this information into multi-dimensional images representing cross-sectional slices of your anatomy, much like slices in a loaf of bread.

DRA Imaging, P.C. now offers the most advanced form of computed tomography called multi-slice CT scanning. Our multi-slice CT scanner now allows studies to be completed faster, with higher resolution, better detail and increased computer manipulation capabilities, all of which contribute to enhanced diagnostic capabilities. This scanner provides the capability to perform CT Angiography as well as 3D reconstruction imaging with the ability to subtract out any metal artifacts which limited the ability to view the image in the past.

Pregnancy Policy:

All patients of childbearing age (10 - 54) will be required to sign that there is No Chance of Pregnancy prior to an imaging exam being performed (Exception: - Ultrasound). If there is a chance of pregnancy, STAT blood work will be ordered prior to the procedure being performed to establish that there is no chance of pregnancy.

In the event, you are pregnant and the exam is deemed necessary by your physician, you will be shielded and monitored with a radiation badge.
